At Nuovo Pignone’s historical factory in Florence (acquired by Baker Hughes S.r.l.) the project was due to get the main gatehouse enlarged and renovated accordingly to corporate image. By using the volume of the existing canopy, which was reshaped and redesigned in term of empty and full spaces, a glass envelope found its place and became the welcome area for clients and hosts; moreover circular pillars created a new external loggia. The project focuses on natural light and see-through surface to let outside spaces and buildings be visible from the gatehouse. Coordination of architectural project, interior design and MEP was the keystone to reuse and fully renovate an old existing canopy gaining a new space with a new pleasant look.
