The school of the future in Bari

Today we want to talk to you about the new building that will be born in Bari, the Domenico Romanazzi Institute, designed to become a new point of reference for the neighborhood.

In collaboration with Studio Settanta7 and Studio Perillo S.r.l. we were awarded the design and, from the first moments, creativity, expression, communication and language were the key concepts and values of the entire design process. Starting from these suggestions we came to conceive this new school as a theatre, a modern and sustainable structure with an “educational stage” in the centre, onto which all the floors of the new building overlook.

The Romanazzi Technical Institute, in via Celso Ulpiani, in the San Pasquale district, is the only one in the territory of the Metropolitan City of Bari to have been nominated for a redevelopment project at the PNRR.

With an intervention worth around 12 million, the Institute currently includes a varied educational offering (ranging from Tourism to Corporate Information Systems) and has 678 students. The current headquarters, in addition to the classrooms, has a gym, laboratories and an auditorium. The demolition and reconstruction intervention will take place within a built-up city fabric. The new building will consist of four floors above ground and will fit harmoniously into the surrounding buildings.

But the Romanazzi institute will not only be at the forefront from an educational and energy point of view, it will be safe on a seismic and structural level, it will have a reduced impact on the environment, in a word we can say NZEB (nearly Zero Energy Building) … we have you said enough to arouse your curiosity?
